Well as much as I hate to "catch up" on my blog and combine everything into one post, I feel it is inevitable at this point. There are a million and one things I want to write about and a million and one things stopping me from doing it, so I guess this is the only way.
A few weeks ago Andrea, my mom, and my grandma came up to visit and watch Eve while I had Layla. It was so fun to have visitors and to be able to see my family without having to travel forever and live out of a suitcase. We tried to play as much as you can when you have a nine month pregnant woman and a then a newborn and we had a lot of fun.
This is the day before I went to the hospital, and the last pregnancy picture taken of me. Something I am very happy about!!

Silly Eve :-)

We decided to go out to dinner before I had Layla and this is what happens when your husband tells you he will watch your little girl at the restaurant; a soaking wet toddler, stares from strangers, and water all over the floor, table, and your cloths.

We did a lot of other things together like go to the parks, we went and saw Green Lantern, shopping (of coarse), and Chris and my grandma went golfing, which Chris has now become obsessed with.
This is Eve's new favorite thing to do. Push things. Haha she will even get behind us and push on our legs to push us, it is so funny. A bit of a hassle when we go to the store and she just cries because she wants to push the cart. So cute though, she obviously can't reach the top so she has to bend over and push the bottom rail.

Eve is just growing so much intellectually. She can say a bunch of words and usually uses them the right way. The cutest word she can say is ball. No matter how mad I am at her and how ornery she has been, the second she sees a ball and runs to it saying in her high little voice, Ball, I forget everything and have to give her a big kiss! She is also so good to us. She learns very fast what she can and can't do and at least 50% of the time will listen to us, without us intervening, when we tell her not to do something. Maybe that is not good for an 18 month old but I feel pretty good about it.
Here we all went to the park one night and got a few pictures.

My grandma and Andrea left a couple Sundays ago and my mom has been chillin at our house with us since. I have to say too that I am afraid for her to leave now. I don't know how I am going to do it with two kids by myself after being used to having a live-in nanny. She has been so wonderful and helps SO much. It has also been fun having her meet all my friends up here and the absolute best part is she has watched the kids a few times while Chris and I went to a movie and to the driving range and biking and yeah it has been amazing!
The 4th of July was pretty fun. I really wanted to have Eve see the fireworks but we never made it. Her bed time is 8 and we all couldn't make it to 10 with her awake so hopefully while we are in Utah over the 24 we can see them. We had a BBQ with some friends and went to the super lame parade they had here in town, very disappointing. But all in all the summer up here has been pretty good. It is beautiful, very green, but way too many mosquito's. Poor Eve, I thought she was getting some kind of rash or the chicken pox or something and we came to find out they were mosquito bites. Yuck! We all have had our fair share of them too.
And one more thing. Chris pulled a very nice perfectly working wonderful fan out of the dumpster, no idea why it was in the dumpster, but we love it. We also go a window ac unit for free from some friends. It is amazing how blessed we are, even with the little things. When we have no money for fans or airconditioners we are still able to get them so we can be comfortable. It was also so funny when Chris came walking into the house with it. I was like no way that is going to work it was in the dumpster for a reason, but low and behold, it did :-)
You are so cute pregnant! That story of Eve and wanting to push things is great! I'm glad to hear things are going well. I want to see pictures of the new little Layla and hear how it all went!
ReplyDeleteThose are way cute stories, Eve is such a cutie . however, I really want to see pictures of Layla too.
