Well so much is going on here. Everyday something exciting, or funny, or cute happens and I think to myself I need to write this down but I never get around to it and then I forget and it is sad. So I feel like if I say here that I want to be better at getting all the adorable little things down as well as the big things then it might happen. Maybe other people can help remind me, hint hint.
Anyway Layla is getting so big. She really smiles now, and has been for a while. When she looks at me she smiles, she also always smiles at daddy. The second she hears his voice she gets excited, it's so awesome. I don't really remember that with Eve. They both have been so different, and I am so different with them. I think I know how to interact with Layla much better then I did with Eve. I remember getting together with my sisters and they would play with there babies and I would watch them to try and figure out how to do it with Eve. Now the second time around it is going much better. I feel bad for Eve because I was so boring with her, haha. Layla is also so BIG too. She is such a chunk, it is so funny and everytime I pick her up I just laugh at how big she is, it is adorable. This pic is when she was 2 months old and she is now 3 months. I am also kicking my self because I can't remember how much she weighed and I lost, or rather Eve lost, the paper it was written on. But I weighed her yesterday and she weighed 14 lb and 5 oz.
She also stinks. Although I have to say I think I am not a fan of the baby smell...... let me explain. Nothing smells better than a just bathed baby, that I love. But I notice when ever anyone would pick up either of my babies and say they smelled so good I had just thought, this baby needs a bath she stinks. I really don't like the sticky milk from behind the ears smell. And I know when I say it that way you think, well no likes that, but people do. To sum up with Layla though, she still mainly sleeps and eats. I am trying to get her to grasp things and play with them but were not there yet. We are also still working on sleeping through the night. I mean she is actually doing really good. Most nights she eats at 9, falls asleep around 11, and then sleeps till 6 am. So I am happy with that for now, but she doesn't do that every night so yeah, still waiting.
Eve is just so many things. She is crazy for the most part though, haha. She says no to EVERYTHING. I will say, do you want some candy and she will reply, no, then walk over to get some. Same story with everything else. I will ask for a kiss and she will say, no, and then give me one? Yeah she is just a stinker. The other day we had the funniest conversation;
Me: Eve can you say hungry?
Eve: Honge
Me: Did you know that when you want food you say hungry?
Eve: Honge
Me: Ok so when you want some food can you say Hungry?
Eve: NO!
Anywho I feel like I can't convey how much she says no, but I am sure you get the picture. She also loves to help out. She has learned to climb up onto the kitchen chairs and get into things on the counter top while I am cooking. And she loves to help throw garbage away. The other day I found her throwing dirty cloths away, so I guess there were garbage? Haha. I am trying to teach her to put her dirty dishes in the sink, but she confuses the sink with the garbage sometimes so were still working on it. Some day we will get to potty training to. Chris really wants to do it but he doesn't realize that I am mainly the one doing it and I don't want to yet, so were not. She really likes stickers too. She found these one day and then I found her in the kitchen with them all over her and the floor, so funny. Also the next day I kept finding them on her feet and under her arms and stuff.
This is an example of her helping me in the kitchen.
One thing that I am excited about is she likes to watch movies and cartoons now. And yes we watch them and yes I use a movie to babysit Eve while I am cooking dinner. Sometimes she will climb onto the arm of the couch like this and watch the movie.
And sometimes she pulls Layla's car seat over and sits in it and then falls asleep. Oh I just laugh at her all day.
This is one of my favorite things to do, dress them alike. And this is coming from a twin who was dressed alike her whole life and hated it. But I look back and it wasn't that big of a deal so now these two will have to endure it too :-) Haha chunky Layla.
Alicia they are so cute together!! We miss you tons and can't wait to get together again!
